The Parry Experience
Parry Beach – William Bay National Park
Parry Beach is just a leisurely 1.5 km walk from Parry Beach Breaks so if you appreciate peaceful beaches where you can swim, fish, catch waves and drive a 4WD along the sand, Parry Beach Breaks is your perfect home away from home.
Parry Beach is a nice spot for a swim and snorkeling however please be aware that the beach is unpatrolled. Towards the Point at the southern end of the beach you will find the water a little calmer and the waves smaller due to the protection offered by the granite rocks of the point and the reef. The water gets deep gradually and the waves roll in from further back rather than dumping at the shoreline. Take care in rough conditions and be wary of rips.
Surfing and Boogie Boarding
The waves at Parry Beach are pretty good for surfing and boogie boarding. It can be a really good spot for kids and beginners to have a go at catching waves. The waves get bigger and more treacherous as you head east past the inlet.
Rock and Beach Fishing
Parry Beach is a great fishing spot! Fish from the rocks on the western headland, or from anywhere along the length of the 200m beach. Species that frequent these waters are herring, whiting, bream, tailor, and salmon. Head further east along to Mazzoletti Beach to find deep gutters close to shore to cast out into.
Beach Walking and Exploring
Walk east along Parry Beach to the inlet, and beyond along to Mazzoletti Beach all the way to Greens Pool and the Elephant Rocks, 5km away. Or walk west over the granite headlands and discover more beautiful beaches up until Point Hillier. Parry Beach is on the Bibbulmun Track.
Driving on the Beach
Drive straight down onto the beach from Parry Road. The sand is fairly compact on Parry Beach making it possible to drive for several kilometres along the length of Mazzoletti Beach, but the inlet channel is a potential obstacle.
Launching a Boat
In calm conditions you can launch a decent-sized boat straight off the beach into the ocean of the Great Australian Bight. For tide times and weather information visit BOM.
